EHMA is pleased to announce that the Leuven Institute for Healthcare Policy will be the co-host of the EHMA 2022 Annual Conference, taking place on 15-17 June 2022 in Brussels, Belgium under the theme ‘From people to systems: leadership for sustainable future’.
The Leuven Institute for Healthcare Policy is a research and teaching centre focused on the study of healthcare policy. It has a long tradition in studies related to understanding and optimising the quality of healthcare. It entails six highly productive research domains: quality and patient safety, health systems and policies, health economics, law in healthcare, communication in healthcare, and healthcare ethics.
The Institute has a threefold mission statement:
- to perform independent, multidisciplinary, methodological research that is both theory-based and applied;
- to offer leading master programmes and doctoral training leading to career opportunities in research;
- to offer socially relevant services, based on continuous training and policy-oriented research.
By gathering expertise from different research domains, the Institute hopes to support governments, healthcare organisations, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders in the healthcare policy. The Institute is a designated WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Research and Policy.
The Leuven Institute for Healthcare Policy is part of the Department of Public Health and Primary Research of the Faculty of Medicine at KU Leuven, a longstanding EHMA member. KU Leuven, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, is the largest university in Belgium, dedicated to education and research in nearly all fields. It currently ranks among the top 50 universities worldwide.
